The incident took place on Monday in Troisdorf. "The patient came at 19 am, accompanied by his girlfriend, who was veiled. He radiated aggression that increased as I treated him," said the surgeon to FOCUS Online.
The patient had a broken fibula. "I explained everything to him, even showed him exercises he should do. But he didn't listen to me at all." Finally the 19-year-old stormed out of the practice - only to return shortly afterwards with his father and brother. The father is said to have been armed with a knife.
The surgeon had just operated when his wife called for help at reception. The doctor rushed forward - right into the arms of the armed man. "He screamed Allahu Akbar. Then he wanted to behead me!" Both of the sons are said to have held the doctor. "Their father kept screaming at me: 'Apologise to my son, get on your knees and kiss his hand'", he recalled. Panic broke out in the practice; an 82-year-old patient even fled through the window.
Fortunately for the man: when the trio stormed into the practice, two colleagues and two patients fled and alarmed the police. Before anything worse could happen, the forces arrived. The officers arrested the 19-year-old and his girlfriend. The father and younger brother fled. But they presented themselves at the police station on Monday evening in the company of a lawyer. The surgeon's wife experienced a heart attack and had to go into hospital.Source
