In face of the massive increase in right-wing violence, the federal government will spent twice as much money on the prevention of right-wing extremism as it does currently. Instead of the 50 million euros currently spent on the federal programme Demokratie leben! Aktiv gegen Rechtsextremismus, Gewalt und Menschenfeindlichkeit [Live Democracy! Active against right-wing extremism, violence and inhumanity], it is to receive 100 million euros annually from 2017, as ZEIT ONLINE learned from government sources.
