A new controversy in Cureghem. Blow upon blow, patrols consisting of two policewomen - who wanted to perform a check on a group of "jeunes" [young people] - were attacked in this district of Anderlecht. The incidents took place on 26 January and 3 February. Each time on Place du Conseil - at the night-shop - and for the same reason: the perpetrators - minors - refused to let themselves be checked by women!
In the first incident, one of the "jeunes" attacked one of the officers before being intercepted on the scene by reinforcements. Sent to be handled by the prosecutor's office in Brussels, we do not know what has become of him. In the second incident, one of the "jeunes" even extended the humiliation so far as to slap the officer before successfully getting away. Quickly identified in the crowd, it is known that he was 14 but he has still not been arrested.Source
