Verdun was one of the great battles of WW1, in which French and German forces fought for about a year, with hundreds of thousands of fatalities on each side. It has a symbol of French patriotism and sacrifice. A memorial programme, including a concert, has been announced for the upcoming 100-year anniversary of the battle. Among the performers whose participation in the concert has been announced: the rapper Black M, a negro who, in his song Désolé described France as a "country of kuffars".
