KhalidMahmood by zakalwe2

Last night on the BBC's Newsnight, Muslim Labour MP Khalid Mahmood explains why brown-skinned people support Britain's continued EU membership: the Brexit campaign is racist. The interview is an interesting example of self-refutation. At the end, Mahmood describes Boris Johnson's comments about Barack Hussein Obama as "racist". Johnson had said that "part-Kenyan" Obama had removed the Churchill bust from the White House due to his "ancestral dislike of the British empire". The claim that a person's ancestral origins could influence their political perceptions was described as "racist". But the whole point of Mahmood's interview is to explain why Africans and Asians are influenced in their political perceptions towards the EU by their ancestral origins. Mahmood thus refutes himself.
