It's confirmed that the perpetrators were all Syrian asylum seekers.
On New Year's Eve, the teenagers met four Syrian citizens in the Friedlingen district. They knew one of them by sight.
In the course of the evening they went along with them to the flat of Mohammad A. (21). He is a recognised refugee in Weil am Rhein, where he lives in a one-room apartment with his younger brother Bruder (15), who also has asylum seeker status.
With them were: two other boys (14), also Syrian citizens. They live in the Netherlands and Switzerland, and were in Weil am Rhein as guests.
It began harmlessly, said the first police commissioner Dietmar Ernst (58): "There was a mutual exchange of tendernesses."
But suddenly from the harmless smooching, a nightmare emerged: the men are said to have grabbed the girls and raped them multiple times. BILD has learned: they were raped anally and vaginally for hours.Source
