Alessandro Marzocchi, an official of the Lega Nord [Northern League] in Castel San Pietro, Bologna, was insulted, punched and threatened with a kitchen knife by a Moroccan in a bar because of his political affiliation.
The aggressor already knew the representative of the Northern League and started to insult him after having used offensive words about the party leader Matteo Salvini, who will be in the Grand Square in Bologna on Sunday for a national demonstration. After an exchange of blows, the North African, a resident of Imola, struck Marzocchi and left.
The local secretary of the Northern League, treated by the emergency medical services, was told to take five days off work because of the wounds to his face. The carabinieri were able to identify the Moroccan.
