This happened at the end of August but I missed it at the time. It came up again recently as a topic in the Vienna mayoral elections, in which Heinz-Christian Strache, the leader of Austria's leading far-right patriotic party, the FPO, is a candidate. The woman was grilled by a council committee over her supposed employment violations. An extract from the record of this meeting reads:
"MA 10 [the nursery school in Vienna] cares for and supports children of various religions. For that reason the religious content of traditional festivals is omitted. You did not comply with this and several times in the overall group you explained the meaning of the Christian Christmas festival to the children."

To this she answered:
"I only answered the children's questions about Christ and the Christ child. I am a Christian but not a religious teacher."
