The Islamic communities in Germany are expecting significant growth this year due to the high number of refugees. "The number of Muslims in Germany will grow significantly," said the chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany. Aiman Mazyek, to Tagesspiegel [newspaper]. According to his reckoning, "at least 80 per cent" of the 800,000 refugees [sic] expected this year are Muslim. Mazyek added: "Already, we have mosque communities that have doubled in a month due to the refugees [sick]."
