A person was detained then hospitalised in relation to 215 graves being damaged on Wednesday in the cemetery of Saint-Roch de Castres (Tarn), announced the minister of the Interior Bernard Cazeneuve on Thursday afternoon.
...The main suspect is said to have been identified thanks to the cameras CCTV cameras. "The suspect, arrested at 12.45 on Thursday, matches the description given by a witness, a cemetery employee, who came across the man dressed in a white djellaba, and followed him," explained the video-prosecutor Charlotte Beluet.
"We found clothes matching the description in his home, in the same district as the cemetery and the Muslim prayer room," added the magistrate. The magistrate underlines that nothing has been able to explain the actions the man is suspected of, and particularly not a religious claim.
A priori mentally unbalanced, he was hospitalised without consultation in the afternoon. "The man repeats Muslim prayers over and over, he drools and cannot be communicated with: his condition has been declared incompatible with preliminary detention" because of his psychiatric problems, she added.Source: Le Parisien
